One burned tie - January 23rd, 2006
Ok, first off,
More pictures are up. These ones are from Pearson.

Second, i'm getting transferred, i think. President called us this morning and told me i was probably getting transferred but things weren't really finalized yet for me. I'm leaving elder edmonds though. He's becoming a trainer. I think i might be going back to Hilton Head.
I burned a tie cause i hit my 6 month mark a few days ago. We sprayed Axe deodorant all over it. That stuff burns.
I really don't have too much to write. See ya'll later.

Ha! I will not be conquered by MLK day! - January 16th, 2006
Hey all,
We're at a member's house using the internet. But we need to roll so here's the email.
Saturday we went to Atlanta. We got cleared to goto the temple so we went. It was crowded. That temple is kind of small. I saw Loren Noel there. That was cool. Loren served as a missionary in vegas as well as his brother, and his brother served in my ward back home back in February of '04. Crazy cool coincidence.
I was sick with the flu Monday and Tuesday of last week. That wasn't fun. But i'm better now.
Mission life is bleh. None of our investigators will come to church. I'm not going to get much into it cause it's just depressing.
Transfer calls are next monday. Will let you all know.
See ya all next week, we gotta go.

oooooh man..... - January 9th, 2006
Ok, first off. i'm really sick. I have all type of stomach problems going on right now, basically all of them listed on the back of pepto-bismal. So forgive me if this letter is short. I just don't feel good.
Second, I apologize for not writing these past weeks. The library was closed both past mondays cause of new years and christmas. It's going to be closed next week too cause of Martin Luther King day. So the next email you get i'll have transfer info (hopefully me and elder edmonds will stay another transfer, that's what president hinted at).
Good things are happening here in pearson. The 4th of February should be a day to remember with a possible 7+ baptisms. We'll see how well that goes. Pray that everything goes well. the commitment that people are having the most trouble keeping is coming to church, they just wont do it.
Mission life has been dragging on lately. I'm tired. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, everything. Add to that that i'm sick right now and last week we lost our car (we had to start sharing it with the elders in Alma).
Funny story, all the black women around here wear wigs. Well we were teaching this one and let's just say a strong breeze came through and the top part of her wig flew off and just left a big bald spot on the top of her head. Funny thing is she didn't realize it had happened.
My mom wrote me a story about how some missionaries in VA got shot and killed recently. I'd like to write now and say with all surety that Pearson is a very peaceful city. there's just no violence here. It's just nice people everywhere, even in the poor places. Not like ridgeland........The poor areas there were just horrible.
Saturday was my birthday. I turned 22. The 20th is my 6 month mark. 1/4th of the way done. I'm gonna burn a tie.
I don't feel good so i'm gonna stop writing. See ya'll in 2 weeks.

dunk. - December 19th, 2005
Hey all.
We had a baptism this weekend. It was a spanish lady who had originally met the missionaries in New York. She came to church every week but couldn't get baptized cause she wasn't married to her live in boyfriend. Well, a few weeks ago she was just like "I want to get married and be baptized" so we were like "Sweet!" So we got her married on wednesday, she was baptized on Saturday, then confirmed on Sunday. It's the first spanish baptism that Pearson has had. Hopefully it's the first of many. We had 6 investigators at the baptism too, so that was really neat.
Elder Baldree is gone. Just me and Elder Edmonds now for another transfer.
President talked in our spanish sacrament meeting this past week. That was pretty good. A spanish member went up to him and told him "Don't you DARE move these two elders!" hahaha. It was funny.
We only had 4 people at church, and only 1 of them was an investigator (at the spanish meeting obviously). We need to work harder at getting people to church.
Let's see......I need a funny story. We have a really ghetto christmas tree that we cut from our backyard. It's actually more of a christmas branch. Has anyone ever seen a charlie brown christmas? Yeah, it's kinda like that. Elder Edmonds has like 8 presents under it. I have zero. Oh well. Actually, that's not true, Brandon got me some Sailor Moon bandaids from Japan. But i already opened those =)
Also, Elder Edmonds' bro got married on Saturday, we think he got married at the same time as the baptism so that's pretty neat. We were joking a few weeks ago about what he could get his bro for a wedding present, and he said "Wouldn't it be neat if we got a baptism? haha." Funny how it actually worked out that way.
Christmas is next week. Yippie. We get the whole day off and we have to be in by 6 on Christmas Eve. Doesn't really work for us since the spanish people celebrate christmas on the 24th, not the 25th......hmm..........
Anyways, see ya all next week.
